Twitter scavenger hunt for Virgin America’s fourth birthday

By Alistair Harris

Interconnected people standing on the words 'social media marketing'

Virgin America, in the run up to their fourth anniversary on August 6, are taking a highly creative approach to their latest Twitter marketing campaign, according to an article featured on clickz.com

To celebrate the landmark, the company will be sending a number of flight attendants – donning mock beards in homage to San Francisco Giants pitcher, Brian Wilson, who has been described by ClickZ as having the “facial hair of an Oregon logger”- to the game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Those fortunate enough to spot the flight attendants in this Twitter scavenger hunt will receive Giants/Virgin America goodies, as well as entrance into a prize draw to win a free airfare.

The hashtag #FlyTheBeard can be used to track the progress of the scavenger hunt during the game.

Spokesperson for Virgin America, Abby Lunardini said: “These live game promotions can be dynamic. You never know what’s going to happen. We’ll leave the number of winners open, depending on how popular the promotion is.”
