Although it may be common knowledge that Twitter, as a platform for social media marketing, is a huge power, the lack of a tool to analyse performance has been of some disappointment to marketers for a considerable amount of time.
However, according to a report published by Search Engine Watch, this is set to change thanks to the launch of a Twitter analytics platform.
The platform underwent an official launch at the recent TechCrunch Disrupt event.
Whilst advertisers previously had access to a custom analytics platform for the micro-blogging service, this official feature could provide smaller businesses with a welcome boost in measuring their Twitter data.
It has been confirmed that the Twitter analytics platform will provide webmasters with access to metrics that will include clicks, top links, links to the original publisher site, the percentage of tweets generated by the Tweet button and top links by timeframe.
Specially integrated with a user’s Twitter feed, users will be able to Tweet and respond from within the analytics platform.
The platform is currently private, though Twitter has stated that the platform will see a public release ‘soon’.
