Nike is launching a major marketing push across a number of marketing channels to target active consumers.
The campaign is headlined by a Facebook contest that encourages consumers to upload videos of their “crew,” showing off each member’s talents in various sports. Nike is then challenging each crew to generate social media buzz, with the top crew winning cash, travel opportunities and other prizes.
“Crews that wish to enter must do so by the end of July, and are given their own profile page within the Nike Chosen Facebook environment, which takes the form of an application running on the platform. The winning crews will be formally announced on August 7th,” the news source reports.
There will also be a 90-second television commercial that will promote the Facebook contest, which will be aired on national television.
