Social media giants Facebook are set to launch a site to enable advertisers to view and comment on campaigns on the social networking site.
The new site has been nicknamed Facebook Studio and promotes the word-of-mouth power of social media marketing. Consumers are targeted based on their social networking profile and are invited to interact with the latest marketing campaigns.
The studio will demonstrate how Facebook can be used as a creative forum. Their plan is to get ad teams to share, like and comment on the creative work published on the new site.
According to an article in the Financial Times, the social networking site got the ball rolling on their new idea by inviting a group of UK advertising leaders to meet at an “influencers’ summit” in Palo Alto, California, last month.
Oreo have created a successful campaign using Facebook. Users were asked: “What’s the favourite part of an Oreo – the cookie or the cream?” Around 10,000 people responded, and all of these comments spread to their friends’ news feeds, increasing brand awareness.
