Deodorant brand Lynx have launched a new mobile phone app as part of their social media marketing campaign according to brandrepublic.com.
The leading brand which have launched the app that will allow a group of men on a night out to create a ‘real-time’ record of their evening which will follow on suit from their massive media campaign.
The app has been developed by US digital agency Razorfish and was made available free from iTunes and Android services as of May 6th.
Users are encouraged to download the app at the beginning of the night and to create a hub that their friends can use to streamline their social media activity at the same time. The app will collect videos, texts, pictures, tweets and status updates, creating a chronological streamline of events.
Josh Dean, senior global brand manager, Lynx, Unilever UK and Ireland, told Marketing that the app was designed as a piece of communication, to “get guys talking about Lynx, build brand equity and have a halo effect across the whole brand portfolio”.
He said: “Lynx is talking to men in a new and exciting way, helping them improve their chances in the mating game, while making them feel more confident and attractive in the process.”
