Food giant Heinz is looking towards more Facebook marketing campaigns in the future, according a report at marketingweek.co.uk.
Their most recent campaign, earlier in the year, saw the company become the first FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) brand to make sales of a product via the social networking site.
Brand manager Lucy Clark said the company was planning to increase spending on advertising via Facebook by 20 per cent.
Commenting on the importance of social media marketing, she added: “It’s hard to drive new interest in a brand that’s so well established, and social media is geared towards invigorating people and driving excitement and engagement through awards and other initiatives.”

Prize draws, sponsored stories and a Facebook app – which features recipes and weather updates for people planning the perfect BBQ – are just a few of the things in Heinz’s latest social media marketing strategy.
