Facebook marketing adverts shoot up by 40 per cent

By Lauren Myatt

Facebook thumbs up

Figures published in the last week have revealed that Facebook marketing costs have shot up by 40 per cent in the last three months, meaning the cost of placing an advert on their site could potentially be very expensive.

According to a leading Digital Marketing report, for the first three months of the year advertising costs have almost doubled potentially due to marketers realising the value of social media sites.

David Karnstedt, president and chief executive of the marketing company, said: “We’re seeing great demand for Facebook’s ad products as the social networking giant’s ad offerings continue to evolve.

“This is all solid evidence of an economic recovery, and that marketers are seeing tremendous results when they intelligently allocate their marketing spend and optimise across channels.”

Facebook have been spending a lot of time recently improving their advertising features, making it easier for marketers to use the site for advertising purposes.
