While attention may currently be focussing on Google+ for business, Facebook has struck back in the social media marketing stakes, quietly launching Facebook For Business on Tuesday (July 26), according to informationweek.com.
Specifically designed to serve the needs of the corporate marketing sector, it provides the information on how to set-up a page, connect and build relationships within the Facebook-sphere and how to create Facebook Ads and Sponsored Stories.
Although not providing anything that wasn’t available beforehand, the change has shown Facebook’s willingness to highlight solutions for problems commonly faced by businesses – at a time when Google+ is still undergoing testing.
In an email, a Facebook spokesperson said: “Businesses can learn how to find new customers before they search for them using Facebook’s targeted Ads, and bring customers from the web into their stories.”
The spokesperson also stated that Facebook’s aim was to ‘inspire small businesses by seeing how other businesses have found success on Facebook by sharing their stories.’
