Facebook marketing is about to receive a boost, as the social network has confirmed the official launch of Ads API (application protocol interface), according to an article featured on utalkmarketing.com.
Having been in beta form since 2009, Ads API will be specifically aimed towards marketers that utilise a high volume of Facebook adverts in marketing campaigns.
It will allow campaign managers to effectively maintain brand marketing that might normally be too complex to operate via the standard self-serve ad tool.
Speaking to technology news site VentureBeat, a Facebook spokesperson stated: “The Ads API doesn’t provide new functionality, but it helps people do things at scale.”
The spokesperson also added that while it would be developers and marketing agencies that would most typically be utilising Ads API, it would provide “the opportunity for businesses of all sizes to use it.”
An application is all that’s required for a developer to gain access to Ads API.
