Renowned for taking a non-traditional approach in their marketing campaigns, Domino’s Pizza’s latest Facebook marketing move is no different.
According to a report published on annarbor.com, the pizza chain will celebrate the 25th birthday of their red, floppy-eared mascot, the NOID, by reviving the cartoon character for the duration of a one-week promotion.
The promotion will feature a retro game, entitled ‘The NOID’s Super Pizza Shootout’, which harks back to the 8-bit style games of the 1980s, which can be found on the company’s Facebook page.
Participants will be able to compete to win free pizza – in the form of a gift cards, to be given away every 60 seconds, which, Domino’s press release claims, have been stolen by the NOID.
Running until August 15, the latest campaign is just one of many innovative marketing moves taken by Domino’s – which include an advert which acknowledged that the standard of the firm’s previous pizza wasn’t high enough.
