The brand most liked on Facebook – the most popular social networking site on the Internet by a considerable distance – has been revealed as Coca Cola, according to an article published by CorpComs.
Research conducted by Covario has also shown that the American beverage manufacturer narrowly beat competition in the form of Hyundai, MTV, Disney and Bayer.
Possessing a fan base exceeding 34 million, Coca Cola’s Facebook page is acquiring new fans at a rate of 3 per cent every month.
Comments posted by the brand were also revealed to be extremely popular – gaining up to 1,750 ‘likes’ as well as generating over 200 additional comments.
The research also displayed that those companies who have an effective social media marketing strategy gained the most comments and, as a result, were the most successful.
Commenting on the results in a statement, Covario were clear in their assessment of what needed to be done to achieve success on the social network, stating: “Less is more with Facebook. Quality is what counts.”
