According to the latest research from BtoB magazine, social media marketing is on the increase among business-to-business brands. LinkedIn, a social media platform for professionals, was cited as the top site for the majority of respondents.

The survey titled ‘Emerging Trends in B-to-B Social Marketing’ looked at the recent growth of social media in the B2B marketing community. Over 90 per cent of B2B marketers have some form of social media account, and the research showed that marketers claim that social media marketing supports their branding efforts.

When asked which platforms were best, LinkedIn took pole position with 26 per cent. Many marketers believe that LinkedIn is the strongest platform for lead generation.

The results from the research support the statement that LinkedIn is the fastest growing business-friendly social media channel. Having recently passed the 100-million-member mark, LinkedIn plan to attract more new users with the launch of new social search features. A new custom news aggregator should make the site a more viable content-sharing platform.
